MARK YOUR CALENDARS

Our mid-week Prayer & Praise Service and Family Bible Study meets each Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.  Every able bodied member of Union should plan to be at Family Bible Study each week to be blessed and to grow in the knowledge of the Word of God.

Our “Noonday Prayer Hour” is growing stronger every week.  We encourage everyone who is available to come out and join our Mother’s Ministry every Tuesday at 12 o’clock sharp as they lift-up the name of Jesus in prayer.  Their efforts are being under girded by the gifted praise singing and piano playing of Rev. Tyrone Wilson.  If you can make your way here during that one hour you certainly don’t want to miss what the Lord is doing “up in here!”

Union, please remember to bring in your pennies from heaven each and every Sunday.  They continue to be a blessing to our building fund.

The FLU and COLD season is upon us.  Have you had your FLU shot yet?  The medical community is advising everyone to get your shot as soon as possible.

If you are over 16 years of age you will be able to get your FLU shot here at THE UNION CHURCH for FREE!  That’s right!  For FREE!

Arrangements have been made for FREE FLU shots to be provided by a State of Delaware Health agency between 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5th ONLY!  !

Please spread the word throughout the local community to come to the J. H. Williams Fellowship Hall of the Union Church, 883 Lincoln St., Dover, to get your FREE FLU SHOTS!!!

Our practice here at the Union Church is to encourage visitors, students and military personnel to feel free to come to our services in appropriate casual dress at any time.

Traditional church dress or uniforms is requested for all Ministers, Officers, Ushers, Nurses and Music Ministry personnel during all formal worship services.

The applications for membership in the Central Delaware Chapter of the NAACP are available at the rear of the church on the Usher’s stand.  Our goal is for at least 50% of Union to be “paid members”.  Pastor Moore is requesting that all officers and ministers be examples for our church community by renewing your memberships to the NAACP today!

The Women’s Ministry would like to remind everyone that we are still accepting your unused cell phones to be distributed to battered women.  For more information please contact Deas. Lois Beecher.

NOVEMBER 18 – Pastor Moore is away this morning preaching the Annual Appreciation Day Service of Matthews Memorial Baptist Church in Washington DC where our friend formerly from Philadelphia, the Rev. Dr. Charles M. Hudson, was recently installed as their new pastor.  Please be in prayer for Pastor Moore and his wife as they travel.

Also, this afternoon the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Psi Iota Chapter will be hosting their Annual Achievement Week Program.  As part of the activities they will be honoring a resident of central Delaware as Business Person of the Year.  Our own Trustee Willie Mills has been chosen to receive this honor for the year of 2007.  Congratulations Trustee Mills!!!

We pray that all of the members of Union and his family members and friends will come back at 5:00 p.m. to show your support and appreciation for Trus. Mills and all of the work he does throughout Dover.

NOVEMBER 22 – HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all!  Pastor Moore and the officers of The Union Church pray that you will be with family and friends during this season of appreciation for all that God continues to provide us.  Remember, God is the One who gives so, don’t forget to tell the Lord, “Thank you!”

NOVEMBER 24 – The New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Dover is giving a 70th Birthday Banquet for Pastor Clifford V. Holmes at the Modern Maturity Center.  The program begins at 6:00 p.m.  The Rev. Larry Phillip McCray is the keynote speaker.  Tickets are $45.00 each.  Contact Dea. Roland at 302-674-0512 for availability.

NOVEMBER 25 Union will be traveling to First Pilgrim Baptist Church in Camden, DE at 3:30 p.m. to close out their 54th Church Anniversary Celebration.  Pastor Moore is asking for all officers, ushers, nurses, music ministry persons and other members of Union to come and join the fellowship with the First Pilgrim family.  Bishop Doriena C. Miles is the pastor.

DECEMBER 2 – This will be the first Sunday in Advent on the Christian calendar.  Let us start the holiday celebrations by remembering the true “REASON for the SEASON”!

DECEMBER 8 Union will be hosting a Gospel concert featuring the Henry Twins and several other Gospel Groups at 6:00 p.m.  This will be a ticketed event for only $20.00 ea.  Contact Bro. Arthur Langston at 302-734-8050 for additional ticket information.

DECEMBER 23 – The Annual Christmas Celebration will be held during the morning worship services.  Everyone is asked to please make yourselves and your children available to participate where needed when asked by the program coordinators.  But most of all, please remember the true “Reason for the Season”!

DECEMBER 31 – The traditional “Watch Night Service” will begin at 10:30 p.m.  All members of Union and Christians from the surrounding community are invited to join us here as we give thanks to God for the year past and another year yet to come.
